REMOVAL

HINT:

  • Use the same procedure for both the RH and LH sides.
  • The procedure described below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the upper side stop ring.

(b) Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, remove the lower side stop ring and back door damper stay sub-assembly.

2. REMOVE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the rear combination light assembly LIGHTING (EXT): REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

3. REMOVE BACK DOOR SIDE STOPPER

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the back door side stopper.

4. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY COVER

(a) Disengage the 3 clips and remove the back door stay cover.

5. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY LOWER BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the back door stay lower bracket.

6. REMOVE BACK DOOR STAY UPPER BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and remove the back door stay upper bracket.
